Have you ever noticed that sometimes you feel heavy, tired, emotional, or distracted… and you’re not even sure why?
One reason may be that you’re carrying energy that isn’t really yours.
This can happen when you care deeply about others, listen to people’s problems, spend time in stressful environments, or simply forget to check in with yourself.
When you are sensitive, intuitive, caring, or spiritually aware, you may naturally notice what others are feeling. That can be a beautiful gift.
But it does not mean you have to carry everyone’s energy.
You can care about people.
You can love people.
You can listen with compassion.
And you can still come back to yourself.
Here’s a simple practice.
Smile, relax, and breathe… no effort.
Then gently ask yourself:
“What energy am I carrying that is not mine?”
You don’t have to figure it all out with your mind.
You don’t have to analyze every feeling.
You don’t have to know exactly where the energy came from.
Just allow yourself to notice.
One simple way to begin feeling better is through grounding.
Grounding helps anchor your body’s energy to the center of the earth, so you can feel more centered, calm, and present.
Close your eyes and imagine any heaviness, tension, worry, sadness, emotional static, or energy that is not yours releasing down your grounding into the center of the earth.
A Simple Grounding Practice
Sit comfortably with both feet flat on the floor.
Gently close your eyes
Take a slow breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Repeat.
Smile gently.
Relax your body.
Gently tap your forehead with your fingers (helps to bring your attention back to present time, in your head).
Imagine a grounding connection from the base of your spine going all the way down to the center of the earth.
This grounding connection can look like a beam of light, a tree trunk, a waterfall, a cord, or anything that feels natural to you.
You do not have to force it or make it perfect.
Just imagine your body connecting gently to the center of the earth.
As you breathe, allow your body to feel supported.
Grounding helps bring your energy back into present time. It gives your body a safe place to release unwanted energy, tension, stress, fear, worry, or other people’s energy.
Allow gravity to do the work.
No effort.
Let Gravity Do the Work
Here is a simple way to understand this.
Hold a pencil, pen, or something light in your hand.
Then simply let it go.
Notice that when you release the pencil, it drops to the floor by itself.
You do not have to push it down.
You do not have to force it.
You do not have to work hard.
Gravity does the work.
In the same gentle way, you can allow unwanted energy to release down your grounding and let the earth recycle it.
You may feel lighter right away.
Or you may simply notice a little more space inside your body.
That little bit of space is important.
That is where clarity begins.
Fill Up With Your Own Good Energy
After you release, take a moment to fill that space with your own good energy.
Imagine a soft Golden Yellow light above your head.
Let that Golden Yellow light gently fill your aura, your body, and every cell.
You can fill up with peace.
Clarity.
Love.
Confidence.
Calmness.
Happiness.
Wisdom.
Good health.
And your own good energy.
You are allowed to feel peaceful.
You are allowed to feel clear.
You are allowed to let go of what is not yours.
You do not have to carry everyone’s energy in order to care.
You can come back to yourself.
You can be in present time.
You can ground, release, and fill up with what you want to create.
